Project Sites
You will be working in small, rural villages in the Katmandu Valley. (Mostly in the Patan district and Bhaktapur area.) Many of the patients you will be encountering will have general medical problems. Dentistry is also a great need in Nepal as well as cleft lip and palate cases.
You will be staying in a modest hotel in Katmandu or in a guesthouse. Electricity is 220 volts in Nepal. Please remember to pack a converter if you are bringing electrical devices. Hot showers should be available.
Your meals will be mostly Nepali – either served at the project location or in the hotel or a local restaurant.
Important Information
The project fees for this mission are $1175.00 USD plus airfare (unless otherwise noted). We do not have the permanent facilities in Nepal that we do in other locations, such as the Dominican Republic and Honduras, thus the cost of setting up and completing the mission is a little higher.
Please contact Julie in the Texas office if you have any questions regarding the visas or fees, as we do not want the cost of the mission to affect your participation.
